Since its inception in 2001, Be a Hero – Hire a Hero has helped thousands of veterans, wounded warriors and people with disabilities. Our goal has always been to assist those too often cast aside. Restoring their grasp on life with dignity, we provide a wide range of services to help veterans and their families. From job training and counseling to getting them connected to perfect employment match. A disability may present obstacles but many disabled individuals manage to shine in the workplace. We offer special assistance to veterans who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, wound or disability during their military service. A USVCC Certified veteran owned business, we are committed to helping former service members and are Partnered with the United States Veterans Chamber of Commerce. Our own staﬀ have all either worked in human resources or served in the military.

Don’t just take our word for it. Companies all over the country have, in recent years, increased targeted hiring of those who have served. Prospects for U.S. veterans returning to the civilian workforce have dramatically improved since 2008 when the Great Recession sent unemployment skyrocketing. During that time, many newly discharged service personnel struggled to find employment. Nearly a decade later, things have really turned around. The unemployment rate for post-9/11 veterans, many of whom returned to civilian employment immediately after the recession had ravage the global economy, has significantly improved. Between the years 2012 and 2015, the unemployment rate for U.S. veterans dipped by 3.2 percentage points. Today the veteran unemployment rate is even lower than that for all U.S. civilians over the age of 18. There is still so much more work to be done. Veterans make great employees, we’ll train them to be the best.
